Every Saturday you can expect:
The Spring Festival is Heritage Farm's signature event, bringing our 19th-century Appalachian Village to life in a way unlike any other! This event has gathered volunteers, artisans, and reenactors from across the region for 21 years! Here are some examples of the many unique experiences available at our festival:
Kick off the season with the farm’s premier event, our 21st Annual Spring Festival! This is your chance to see the entire village brought to life, with exclusive events like sheep-shearing and the unveiling of the season’s new attractions. We’ll be celebrating the farm and what’s new in the land of old all month long!
Celebrate the important women in your life at our Mother's Day Tea Time Luncheon! Click Continue Reading to see our flyer with all the details!
June 20, 1863 is when West Virginia became a state, and we will be highlighting some of our unique state stories during this month. Hear of the pioneer life of Simon Kenton, the Savage Land Grant, and other tales from the Mountain State!
We’re celebrating America all July long, and it starts with our Summer Festival on July 1st! This tribute to America features one of our nation’s oldest traditions – the Ice-Cream Social! Enjoy our special recipe homemade vanilla ice cream for sale in the village, as well as the following activities:
There’s nothing like a hot summer day to pay tribute to America the Beautiful! Starting with our Summer Festival, you’ll hear from founding fathers Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson and other important figures in our nation’s history!
One of the oldest named regions of the United States, Appalachia is known for its hills, its people, its culture, and much more. Experience the infamous Hatfields and McCoys feud, listen to some mighty fine old-time music, and sit a spell on our front porch!
To quote William Blake, “Great things are done when men and mountains meet.” This is your chance to embrace the mountain heritage of this region, culminating in the 2nd annual Mountain Games – where individuals and teams compete to prove their mountaineer mettle!
Our 2nd annual Mountain Games is a fundraiser for the Hoops Family Children's Hostpital at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Individuals and Teams enter to compete in a series of events related to Appalachian and Pioneer life. Last year's events included a Tomahawk Throw, Shelter Building, and even "Bigfoot Hunting!"
5k and 10k trail runs are also part of the festivities. Keep an eye on this page and our social media for future updates!
Fall is a magical time to visit Heritage Farm, and we are proud to share in timeless fall traditions during the month of October. From Wagon Rides and apple cider to our Fall Festival – featuring the 7th annual Cast-Iron Cookoff - you will get a fall farm experience unlike any other!
We have so much to be grateful for at the Farm: our state, this region, the land, its bounty, and our nation. Come join us as we thank the people that inspire us to greater heights every day.
