Heritage Farm Extends Way Back Weekends to Include Every Saturday
Heritage Farm Museum & Village announces today that it is extending its flagship events, “Way Back Weekends,” to include every Saturday from May to December, with a different theme celebrated every month. Visitors will be able to enjoy the award-winning museums; artisans like the blacksmith and potter, petting zoo, wagon rides, food, children’s discovery zone, and featured activities every weekend.
“We were thrilled with the response that the Way Back Weekends received last year,” said Audy Perry, Executive Director, “so our new goal is to give every Saturday that same atmosphere.” The Farm will have four major festivals, on par with its premier Spring Festival, for each season. These festivals include the Spring Festival on May 6, the Summer Festival on July 1, the Fall Festival on October 14, and the Christmas Village the first two weekends in December (1,2 and 8, 9 from 5-9 p.m.) All the fan-favorite events will still be happening, including the homemade ice cream social during the Summer Festival, the Cast-Iron Cook-off at the Fall Festival, and Mountain Games on September 23.
With its new approach, Heritage Farm hopes to have more frequent, larger themed Saturdays, including a car show for Father’s Day, a presentation on weaving for Mother’s Day, a Hatfield McCoy day in August, as well as other special events throughout the year. Prices for each Way Back Weekend are $12 adults, $10 seniors (65+), $8 youth (3-18) with 2 and under free or purchase an annual pass, good for every Saturday one year from the purchase date. An Individual Pass is $30, a Family Pass (2 adults and any children under 18) is $75.
