Heritage Farm Museum & Village has been transformed by Christmas spirit for their upcoming December Way Back Weekends. On Dec. 2,3,9, & 10 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. visitors can experience a completely lit 19th century pioneer village that includes a living nativity drama, live Christmas entertainment, artisan gift market, bread oven cookies for sale with decorating options, Santa Claus, and more for only $5 all ages (2 and under free).

Heritage Farm to represent West Virginia at White House Event | Jun 15, 2016
Heritage Farm Museum and Village’s efforts to support the national maker movement has garnered an invitation to the White House for the National Week of Making kickoff event on Friday, June 17th at 9 am. Partnering with the WV Education Alliance and Pittsburgh Children’s Museum, Heritage Farm has engaged thousands of visitors in the state’s largest MakerSpace. Heritage Farm staff have been trained at a Maker “Boot Camp”, and have also hosted the “2015 WV Makes Festival” presented by Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing.

First ever “Spring Break Heritage Camp” coming in March | Feb 06, 2016
Huntington, WV — Advancing its mission of inspiring an emboldened Appalachian future while providing unique, experiential learning activities for area youth, Heritage Farm Museum and Village will host the first “Spring Break Heritage Camp” for any elementary student Kindergarten through 5th grade. The 2-day, hands-on camp, will accommodate most spring break schedules allowing participants to choose from March 23 & 24th or March 30th & 31st, during the hours of 9am-4pm.
20th Anniversary Spring Festival Media Day | May 02, 2016
Huntington, WV — Heritage Farm Museum & Village will host members of the media for a special kickoff to the Way Back Weekend season. The 20th Anniversary Spring Festival Media will be hosted in the new Artisan Café between 11am-2pm on Friday, May 6th. Members of the media will be treated to a free lunch, from a brand new menu, and given full access to the MakerSpace and the Six Simple Machines Discovery Zone. All other attractions, personnel, and Spring Festival information will be available until 2pm.
Volunteer Training at Local Smithsonian Affiliate | Apr 11, 2016
Huntington, WV — Heritage Farm Museum & Village staff will train volunteers on Saturday, April 16th from 10am-Noon at the Visitor Center’s Artisan Café. Since last year, many new volunteer positions have been created with new attractions and events coming in 2016. Kicking off with the “20th Anniversary Spring Festival” on Saturday, May 7th, volunteers will be able to choose from positions that fit their interest to help further Heritage Farm’s mission as a source of hope and renewal for the Appalachian region.
