The Mill Building contains exhibits of two early American industries:  the grinding of corn and the making of brooms.

 Come to the Mill Building and learn the fascinating development of the feed sack and its history with the grinding industry.
When water-powered gristmills were not available, large hit-and-miss engines, such as the 8 horsepower one pictured here, were used to grind. This was obviously faster than by hand or with other small hand powered mills.
