Step back in time with a guided adventure into days gone by -- a time of one-room schoolhouse, blacksmith shops, country stores and log homes.

Stroll through up to 16 different buildings experiencing life as it was "back then" and learning about the major inventions that changed everything to create the quality of life we take for granted today. To see our interactive map, click here.

Heritage Farm Museum and Village tours of the Museum of Progress, Museum of Transportation and the Country Store Museum are available to the public all year, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (except for major holidays and in the months of December, January and February tours are available, weather permitting). Guests may tour the other Heritage Farm exhibits by advance reservation.

School Tours help students be proud of their Appalachian Heritage with an inspirational field trip to the award-winning Heritage Farm. Students can experience life as it was “back then” and learn about the major inventions that changed everything to create the quality of life we take for granted today. This unique experience for students includes guided lessons in the authentic 19th century One Room Schoolhouse, Progress of Appalachia Museum, American Transportation Museum and either the walk-through Coal Mine Exhibit or the Hands-On Activity Center.
