HUNTINGTON -- A 1947 Norfolk Western caboose rolled through the streets of Huntington midday Wednesday, making its way to Heritage Farm Museum and Village.

A 1947 Norfolk Western caboose was moved on Wednesday from the corner of 8th Ave. and 12th St. to its new home at Heritage Farm Museum. Above, the caboose is pulled along 5th Street past 11th Avenue.

The rusted and worn railroad car was loaded by crane onto a flatbed truck before noon and driven slowly to Harvey Road and the museum that sets on the Cabell-Wayne border.

The caboose had been at the railroad yard near the intersection of 8th Ave. and 12th St. for about 10 years. Mike Perry, founder of the Heritage Farm Museum, said he has been working feverishly with the historical society for the past three years to get it moved. He said it will be ready for guests in about a year.
