The Heritage Farm Museum specializes in programs that support learning and are designed to meet the needs of schools and home school families.Ask us to recommend programs that complement your area of study. The Museum can accommodate large groups with advanced notice. Picnic facilities available by reservation only. Call to schedule.
To assist educators in planning a trip to the Farm, the Regional Educational Service Agency, II has provided an informative listing of how our exhibits support the West Virginia Social Studies Content Standards and Objectives (Grades K-12). For your convenience, we have links to programs for K-5th grade, 6th - 8th grade and 9th - 12th grade.

Tours help students be proud of their Appalachian
Heritage with an inspirational field trip to the award-winning Heritage
Farm. Students can experience life as it was “back then”
and learn about the major inventions that changed everything to
create the quality of life we take for granted today. This unique
experience for students includes guided lessons in the authentic 19th century One Room Schoolhouse, Progress of Appalachia Museum, American Transportation Museum and either the walk-through Coal Mine Exhibit or the Hands-On Activity

Heritage
Farm Museum and Village has completed a new video that shows some
of the highlights of the farm, including the technology building,
the progress museum and Appalachian Heritage displays and the assorted
hands-on activities. Our goal is to help students experience the
life of "back then" and learn about the inventions that
