June 20, 1863 is when West Virginia became a state, and we will be highlighting some of our unique state stories during this month. Hear of the pioneer life of Simon Kenton, the Savage Land Grant, and other tales from the Mountain State!
In addition to our regular Way Back Weekend programming, we will have:"
-Artisans: Weaver, Potter, Woodworker, Blacksmith
-our Shingle Mill will be open and demonstrating!
-A special visit and story from Simon Kenton, the famous Appalachian frontiersman!
June 10 (WORLDWIDE KNIT IN PUBLIC DAY)
-anyone who brings their needles to "sew in public" will be admitted for free!
-Artisans: Weaver, Blacksmith.
-Glass bead-making demonstration from Kari Newman!
-our Bread oven will be open and making delicious treats!
-Special knit in public activities!
